This country has such a rich history. I had a fabulous history teacher in high school, Mr. Barksdale (his Wiki page is written by his students). Aside from being the only teacher I've ever known to love (and endorse) Wikipedia, a former Google employee and an author of Google for Dummies books, he had a way of making kids excited about history- previously a rather dull and dry subject for me. He's a sharp guy in politics and has so many facts crammed into his head sometimes I wondered how he could keep it all in.
God bless America, land of the free!
Ben Gates: A toast? Yeah. To high treason. That's what these men were committing when they signed the Declaration. Had we lost the war, they would have been hanged, beheaded, drawn and quartered, and-Oh! Oh, my personal favorite-and had their entrails cut out and ''burned''!
[brief pause]
Ben Gates: So... Here's to the men who did what was considered wrong, in order to do what they knew was right...
[nodding]
Ben Gates: what they knew was right.
