I love writing, and there are certain movies I love so much I wrote in detail about my favorite scenes from those movies. In the future, I will post them just for fun, for anybody to enjoy. It is my hope that if you haven't seen a particular movie I reference, my honorable mention of them will prompt you to go to your local library or movie rental place ASAP because I promise, the movies portray it much better!
DISCLAIMER: The following scenes are based on the movies listed, not on the book (if there is one) the movie is based on. I also added my own twists and take on certain characters. It's more like fan fiction than anything else. --You can laugh all you want!
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Legolas smiled as he rested his hand on Aragorn- KingAragorn's shoulder. He knew what his friend did not- the Lady Arwen was standing not three feet away, carrying the Elven banner.
Aragorn looked at him, a slightly puzzled look in his eyes- he wanted to know why Legolas was grinning so broadly. Legolas suppressed a sigh. This man knew him well. He would miss his friend when they parted to their separate ways.
Stepping to the side, Legolas motioned with his eyes. Automatically, Aragorn looked in the direction of his gaze. His breath caught as he saw Elrond, King of the Elves. But it wasn't Elrond that had his attention- it was the woman standing beside him, holding an Elven banner.
The new King of Gondor stepped forward and grasped the banner gently. He looked tenderly at the sweet face behind. Arwen.
She looked nervous, excited, proud, and awed, all at once. Legolas thought he understood. Would, Aragorn, renowned war hero, Ranger from the north, and now a newly christened king, still want a simple Elf like her- even if she was an Elven princess?
There was nothing but love in Aragorn's eyes as he passed the banner to one of the elves standing off to the side. Arwen inclined her head, a nervous smile breaking through.
Aragorn reached out and lifted her chin. She looked into his eyes. Legolas watched, bursting with joy at his friend's happiness.
They kissed. Elrond looked a little apprehensive as Aragorn then led his daughter back to the ranks of men, but Legolas knew Elrond knew Aragorn would take good care of Arwen and treat her well.
The crowd cheered. Aragorn paused in front of the four hobbits, who were standing at the front grinning broadly. Their smiles slowly disappeared in awe of the moment. One by one, each little person bowed his head to King Aragorn and soon-to-be Queen Arwen.
Aragorn started. He was still a little unused to being regarded as royalty, Legolas noticed.
"My friends." Aragorn spoke with quiet gentleness. "You bow to no one." With those words, he dropped to one knee and bowed before the four brave hobbits upon which much of the war had depended.
Frodo looked a little overwhelmed- but he enjoyed the attention, Legolas saw. Sam blushed gracefully, Pippin stared at Aragorn as if he couldn't quite believe what he saw, and Merry stood a little straighter.
Following his lead, Arwen and then everyone else in the courtyard fell to their knees. Gandalf, at the front, did not kneel, but he did incline his head and smile proudly.
Legolas glanced up and caught the eye of Taela, one of the Elven girls his age. With a secret smile, he flicked his gaze to Aragorn and Arwen. They were perfect together. They would be married, have children, and live happily.
Why shouldn't he enjoy the same blessings, now that his time of war was over? His eyes moved to Taela again. She was watching the hobbits with reverence.
Oh, yes. Why shouldn't he, Legolas, get married?
