What in the world are frakenobles?

"I had a really weird dream last night," Sara told me this morning as I was getting ready for school. "Your family was in it. Your brothers were running with scissors and I told them to stop or they'd poke someone's eye out."

Jennifer looked up from the biography she was reading. "Did they? Because that would be gross."

Sara grimaced at the thought. "No, but I remember I was really scared that would happen."

"We'll see what Graig has to say about it," I said as I took out my phone. As Graig and I started texting each other random things out of the blue, I confided to Sara and Jen, "I forgot my brother has a sense of humor."

Let that be a lesson to you all: brothers are people, too!

Our conversation as of 12:18 PM:
To: Graig

Don't run with scissors!

Ah. I'm more aware of
the opinion confusion

happened after the

I guess he didn't know what to say to that... but to be fair, I wouldn't either.

p.s. ... IT'S FRIDAY

David eats brains at the devotional

Every week when the BYU devotional comes around at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, some of my friends and I have sort of a potluck lunch. There are five of us "regulars" at the devotional lunch, but we've had as many as seven people sharing the food before.

Today we had a really healthy lunch. Sara brought homemade jello cake, David brought red licorice, and Jennifer, Mark and I brought nothing. After we'd all eaten about two licorice braids each, David started playing with the leftovers. He learned how to make a hangman's noose from Mark, created an elaborate rope bridge (the kind you see in movies swinging in the wind between two cliffs) and then mashed it all together and made brains.

Then he ate the licorice. His mouth almost wasn't big enough to fit it all in one bite, but he managed.

It's Friday!

Isn't it about time we had another Friday?

The best thing about Friday is that it comes around once a week. The worst thing about Friday is that it comes around once a week. Friday is nothing but anticipation for the evening and following day.

Today I'm anticipating a break from homework (tonight only, this special ends when I go to sleep), a trip to Salt Lake tomorrow with my awesome roommate Jennifer, the Holi Festival of Colors and a "friend date" with some of my best friends from high school- and beyond. (Kiera deserves special mention here- not only was she my friend during high school, but we were buddies long before it. Hooray for lifelong friendship!)

I'm also celebrating the weather. How long will it last, do you think?

Five chemistry memes

Meme: A humorous photo caption often utilizing inside jokes or making fun of stereotypes.

I've been writing some of my own memes lately, in my spare time at work. The first two use a picture I took last February when Dr. Prince's grad students had a birthday party for him. The last three are written on a picture I took last week during Dr. Wood's annual St. Patrick's Day Magic Show. He can be quite the ham.

(I wrote this one because Dr. Wood's expression reminded me of a David Tennant face)

(Dr. Wood could give Bill Nye a run for his money, don't you think?)

The Mara Nightmare

It was 3 A.M. Mara, who moonlights as an insomniac these days planning the details of her August 11 wedding, was coming into our room to go to bed. I was deeply asleep, but for some reason at that exact moment I opened my eyes a little and saw a dark figure walking towards me. All of a sudden, I was wide awake. I sucked in a breath and sort of bounced back on my bed, hitting the wall.

The next thing I heard was laughter. Uncontrollable Mara-giggling. All the air went out of me.

"Mara!"

"Tee-hee hee, tee-hee hee..."

"It wasn't that funny!"

"Tee-hee. Tee-hee hee..."

According to Mara, I spoke in a groggy zombie-voice (which makes sense because I had been sound asleep about 30 seconds before). She just started laughing harder.

(p.s.- about the part about a wedding... Mara and Josh are engaged. As of last Wednesday.)

The Ward Dance- pictures

I had a great time with Jeremy last Saturday at the ward date dance. He's a great dancer and taught me a few steps of waltz, swing(?) and cha cha. Photos taken by K.T.

Me- kudos to Kelly and Holly for doing my hair and makeup. Kudos to Sara for forbidding me to wear my black boots. Kudos to Jennifer and Mara for not making fun of me while they watched fascinatedly as Holly painted my face with what she called "hardly any makeup- it looks totally natural."
Me and Jeremy

My beautiful roommates- Fun fact: all of us went with roommates. Jeremy is Josh's roommate; James and Eric are roommates, and John and Bible are roommates.

Immortalizing my roommates as dogs

Sara: hyperactive as usual
Holly and Kelly: best buds, telling one another stuff about their lives
Jen: off in her own little world (probably thinking about Lee Min Ho :) )
Jess: "Play with me!"
Mara: "Zzzzzzzz..."
Josh (the honorary roommate): sort of in his own world (because Mara's asleep), sort of looking for attention (because Mara's asleep)
